The final program of the 40th COSPAR Scientific Assembly is now set. More than two thousand experts in space research and exploration will gather in Moscow in August for the 40th Scientific Assembly organized by the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR). The Assembly’s program includes more than 4 000 talks and posters, nine interdisciplinary lectures, a round table dedicated to exoplanets, and a special talk to be given by Viktor Sadovnichy, rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University which is the venue for the meeting.
We are pleased to announce that for participants of the 40th COSPAR Scientific Assembly the new rules for obtaining Russian entry visas entered into force.
Currently the sufficient basis for obtaining the visa is the Official Invitation Letter signed by Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
The Local Organizing Committee will provide such letters for all registered participants by request.

Professor Giovanni F. Bignami, president of COSPAR, visited Moscow upon invitation from Russian Academy of Sciences, on 11th of April just before the Cosmonautics Day. Despite an extremely tight schedule, Professor Bignami agreed to answer several short questions concerning upcoming COSPAR Scientific Assembly and current state of space science.
