Dear participants of the 40th COSPAR Scientific Assembly!

The local organizing committee invites you to visit interesting space museums in Moscow.

Excursion to the museum of Lavochkin Research and Production Association
(NPO Lavochkin)

Duration: 6 hours
Time of the two excursions per day: 09 – 15; 14 – 20
Price: 15 euros (cash) (the price includes transportation, entrance tickets, English speaking guide).
Date: 04, 05, 06, 07 or 08 August 2014 (it depend of the total number of interested participants)
Starting point / Tour end: MSU
Lunch: After morning excursion you can have lunch in the cafeterias you can find near “Universitet” metro station.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the total number of participants is limited.
All interested participants should confirm their attendance to the museum and send Personal Data as soon as possible but not later than July 15, 2014.
Russian participants have to fill the form in Russian and English.

Lavochkin Research and Production Association is a Russian aerospace company and a major player in the Russian robotic science space program. It was founded in 1937 as a Soviet aircraft design bureau (OKB) and named for its head designer, Semyon Lavochkin. It gained distinction for its family of piston-engined fighter aircraft during World War II, and later shifted to missile designs. The company develops and manufactures spacecrafts, satellites, interplanetary probes and rocket upper stages such as Fregat. It is a contractor for a number of military programs as well.



Excursion to Gagarin Research&Test Cosmonaut Training Center (Zvezdny gorodok)

Duration: 6 hours
Time of the two excursions per day: 09 – 15; 14 – 20
Price: 15 euros (cash) (the price includes transportation, entrance tickets, English speaking guide).

“Gagarin Research&Test Cosmonaut Training Center" was built to support manned space programs, space exploration activities, space engineering, cosmonauts' training, as well as ensuring cosmonauts' safety in space and providing post-flight rehabilitation program for cosmonauts.
Excursions at the training facilities of the Yu. A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
Tourists visit MIR Space Station or International Space Station full-scale simulator, big centrifuge, and hydro-lab.
Centrifuges and centrifuge-based simulators are used for improving cosmonauts’ G-tolerance capabilities. Hydro lab is intended for training cosmonauts in conditions of simulated weightlessness in the water.



Excursion to Astronautics Memorial Museum

Duration: 4 hours
Time of the two excursions per day: 09 – 13; 14 – 18
Price: 15 euros (cash) (the price includes transportation, entrance tickets, English speaking guide).
Date: 05, 06, 07 or 08 August 2014 (it depend of the total number of interested participants)
Starting point / Tour end: MSU
Lunch: After morning excursion you can have lunch in the cafeterias you can find near “Universitet” metro station.

Astronautics Memorial Museum is situated in Moscow in front of metro VDNKH. At present time the museum and adjoins Space heroes alley are opened after reconstruction. Much extended and updated exposition allows to show full-scale rocket and space technology. Also in the museum are presented space industry figures personal belongings, archival documents, movie and photo materials, numismatics, philately, works of fine art and crafts.


Useful information about the excursions!!
The buses to the excursions will be situated on the parking between the Lomonosovsky building and the Fundamental Library. All participants must have their passports.
